BERKHAMPSTEAD SCHOOL OPENS A NEW WELLBEING LIBRARY WITH AUTHOR LUCY ROWLAND
We are delighted that Berkhampstead School have opened a new Wellbeing Library, located within their Pre-Prep Library.
Carefully curated, this collection of high-quality picture books is designed to help families navigate important topics such as anxiety, neurodiversity, grief, parental separation, serious illness and the loss of a pet.
Each book includes a helpful guide and activity ideas to support meaningful conversations with children.
Available for all Berky families to borrow, this resource reflects their commitment to supporting the wellbeing of their whole school community.
We are very proud that Berkhampstead School was selected as a case study school by Reading Rocks to share best practice using books to support children’s wellbeing.
“We have built a well-being library at our school using the Reading Rocks KS1 package. Having a ready-made curation of picture books covering so many helpful topics has been invaluable in enabling us to create a resource that is regularly used by both staff and families to support our children.
Parents have signed out books to support children with grief, familial illness and friendship issues and have been hugely grateful to have these books available at school. The accompanying resources have saved teachers valuable planning time by providing the basis for CWB lessons and KS1 assemblies.
This resource has been a brilliant addition to our well-being provision.”
